Public Schools Done Differently

At Paramount's Girls in STEM Academy, we do things a little differently. Like traditional public schools, our curriculum follows state standards, and we are free and open to all. What sets us apart is our unique, data-driven academic approach. Our teachers tailor instruction to the needs of students, keeping them engaged and inspired every day.

What makes Girls in STEM Academy different?

There is a large, self-perpetuating gender gap in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) jobs. Girls interested in STEM have fewer female role models, and the gender gap is even more pronounced among girls of color.

Girls IN STEM Academy is an all-girls public school for grades K-6 that allows girls to thrive and excel in a supportive environment with a core curriculum and STEM focus. The goal is to prepare them for high school, college, and a rewarding STEM career.

  • NOTE: We will add Grade 7 for the 2025-26 school year and Grade 8 for the 2026-27 school year.

At Paramount Schools of Excellence, every child has access to an exceptional education. No matter which Paramount school your child attends, they will develop the same critical thinking skills and love of learning because we are ONE PARAMOUNT.

Why do families choose Paramount?

“One thing that stood out for me was not just Paramount’s high overall test scores, but their test scores for black and brown students. We were looking for additional rigor for our kids and we saw high-level proficiency and intentionality.”

Emory Edwards

Students in 1st and 3rd grade

“My grandniece needs a lot of social and emotional support. Here, she's thriving from the care and nurturing of the staff who are all so involved on a personal level. She knows she’s loved. It's amazing how she's changed.”

Augusta Mann

Student in 7th grade

“There’s an 80% chance of African American boys not graduating high school if they don’t excel in third grade. Our boys love learning at Paramount, which, at their age, is critical for their future success.”
