At Andrew J. Brown Academy, we believe in the Paramount school model and have witnessed how it leads to success with the academic environment it creates. We believe that all students can learn at a high level, and we are dedicated to creating a nurturing and academically challenging environment for every student. I believe in the power of strong relationships between school, home, and community.
My name is Elysha St. Louis, and I am honored to serve as the new Principal of Andrew J. Brown Academy. With over 13 years of experience in education, my journey began at Andrew J. Brown Academy, where I had the privilege of teaching fifth through eighth-grade Math and English and later coaching both girls' and boys' basketball.
During my time there, I helped drive academic growth of 40% to 70% over five years, contributing to AJB’s improvement from a D-rated to a B-rated school. I came to Paramount as an Academic coordinator focused on coaching teachers through the network of 8 schools in 2023.
I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education from Central State University, and my passion has always been rooted in helping young minds grow, thrive, and realize their full potential. As a Board Member of the Young, Black & Educated Foundation, I remain committed to fostering equity, representation, and excellence in education both inside and outside the classroom.

Garrett Gammons, School Director
I am Garrett Gammons, the newly appointed school director of Andrew J. Brown Academy. I have over 15 years of dedicated experience in the field of education, marked by my commitment to fostering an environment where students can thrive. Most recently, I served as the associate director at Brookside, a role I held at Paramount during the past school year. My leadership experience also includes a significant tenure as the middle school principal at Adelante Schools, where I established strong relationships with stakeholders and grew in instructional coaching.
As I step into this new role, I look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to cultivate an environment where every student can achieve their fullest potential. I look to inspire both educators and students, setting the stage for a bright future at Andrew J. Brown Academy.
My passion for education is deeply rooted in my desire to uplift students in the Indianapolis area. I believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and I strive to empower teachers, families, and students alike to pursue excellence. My vision for Andrew J. Brown Academy is centered on creating a collaborative and supportive community that prioritizes student success and well-being. With a keen focus on instructional strategies, building strong relationships, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, I am dedicated to making a lasting impact on the lives of students and the broader community.
